A video platform serving several European markets wanted its traffic to reach access networks without crossing a third-party backbone first.

  • 100G transit ports in Amsterdam and Frankfurt on separate routers
  • Partial transit blended in to keep the European share off the paid table
  • Large communities used to prefer specific exchanges during peak hours
Why it works

Peering at 16 exchanges means most European eyeball networks are one AS hop away, and the customer keeps control of the path with communities rather than tickets.

Data centre interconnect
Gaming operator, two-site cluster

An operator running matchmaking and game servers across two facilities needed a predictable Layer 2 path between them, not an internet route.

Build
  • 10G protected EVPL between Frankfurt and Amsterdam
  • 9000 byte MTU end to end so nothing needed re-tuning
  • Y.1731 monitoring, with delay and loss visible in the control panel
Why it works

A dedicated circuit removes the variability of a routed path, and protection on a diverse route keeps a fibre cut from becoming an outage.

Optical
Hosting provider, capacity growth

A hosting business outgrew leased Ethernet on its busiest corridor and needed a step up in capacity without a step change in cost.

  • 100G wavelength on our line system between two core metros
  • Second channel added on a diverse route six months later
  • Path documented so the customer could plan their own optical budget
Why it works

Because the corridor was already lit and the capacity was ours, adding a channel was provisioning rather than construction, and the second one arrived in days.
